Effect of metal inert gas welding parameters on the hardness and bending strength of carbon steel plates

A study of the metal inert gas welding MIG process was carried out in order to evaluate influence parameters on hardness and bending strength welded carbon steel plates. Welds were made by machine using different that include current 10-200 A, arc voltage 11-26.5 V, wire speed 1.5-16.5 m/min CO2 flow rate as 5-25 l/min. The result demonstrations increases with decreasing increasing current. Moreover, cause unstable which affected bead surface weld penetration. Oppositely, not affecting zone. majority samples bended successfully except voltages 11, 15, 22 26.5 100 8.5 m/min, 10 l/min failed appeared large crack their Furthermore, zone increased value. best quality can be achieved at 18 rate. improved 240 HV instead 192 good behavior.
